How renting works
- Pick your slot online. Three hours is enough to break down two or three sheets.
- A PIN arrives by email as soon as you pay.
- Open the locker at Iso Omena and take the case. It weighs 7,6 kg loaded, so this is one to carry with both hands.
- Put the saw back in its foam cut-out and return the case to the same locker.

That 54 mm depth is worth checking against your job before you book. It clears 48 mm construction timber in one pass and any sheet material you are likely to meet. It will not go through a 100 mm fence post in one go.

The fitted blade has 18 teeth. That is a fast blade built for timber, and it will leave a rough edge on plywood, laminate and veneered board. If the cut edge will be on show, cut with the good face down so the tear-out lands on the underside. The blade on the saw is replaced when it stops cutting cleanly. Einhell's guide rail fits this saw but is not part of the rental.
Rent or buy? The same kit costs about 240 € new: 100 € for the saw, 80 € for two batteries and a charger, 60 € for the case. A full day here is 11,99 €. Most households need a circular saw about once a year, which puts the break-even twenty years out. Worse, a circular saw is the one tool people buy for a single weekend and then keep on a shelf at head height for a decade, still sharp, still dangerous, never used.
Frequently asked questions
- How much can I cut on one battery? Einhell rates this saw at roughly 64 metres of 19 mm chipboard per 4,0 Ah charge. Two batteries and a charger come in the case, so you clip one in, leave the other on charge, and swap when the first runs down.
- Will it give me a clean edge on plywood? Not with the blade that is fitted. Eighteen teeth is a timber blade: quick, but it tears the face veneer. Cut with the good face down so the tear-out lands on the underside, or score the cut line first with a knife.
- Can I cut a 100 mm fence post? Not in one pass. Maximum depth is 54 mm at 90°. You can cut from two opposite sides on a square post, but a reciprocating saw is the better tool for that job and Tooly rents one.
- How do I get a straight cut? Use the parallel guide in the case for anything within its reach. Past that, clamp a straight batten to the workpiece and run the base plate along it. Freehand cuts wander, and the wander is what causes the blade to bind.
- Is there dust extraction? Yes, there is a 36 mm adapter in the case. Any workshop vacuum with a 36 mm hose will connect to it, and sawing sheet material indoors without one makes a serious mess.
Safety: A circular saw is the most dangerous thing Tooly rents. The blade is exposed at the cut, it spins at 4200 rpm, and it does not stop instantly when you let go. Read this block before you use it.
Kickback is the main risk. If the blade binds in the cut, the saw drives itself backwards towards you at speed. It happens when the offcut pinches the blade, when the workpiece is not properly supported, or when the cut line wanders and the blade twists.
- Support the workpiece on both sides of the cut so the offcut cannot fall and pinch the blade
- Never stand directly behind the saw — stand to one side of the cut line
- Set the depth so the blade projects only a few millimetres past the underside of the material
- Both hands on the saw, and keep them well clear of the blade path
- Check the lower guard springs back on its own before every session, and never wedge it open
- Let the blade reach full speed before it touches the material, and let it stop before you lift the saw
- Do not reach underneath the workpiece while the blade is turning
- Remove the battery before changing the blade or adjusting anything
- Check the timber for nails and screws first
- Wear safety glasses, hearing protection and a dust mask
- No loose sleeves, no gloves that can catch, tie back long hair
- If the saw binds mid-cut, release the trigger and hold it still until the blade stops
Pick-up and opening hours: The Tooly locker is on floor −1 of the Iso Omena shopping centre at Piispansilta 11, Espoo, near the Musti ja Mirri entrance. Lockers open every day 6–24. At 7,6 kg this is one of the heavier items, so if you are driving, park in P2B next to the ABC charging point — it is the closest point to the lockers.
