This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, which ones Tooly Oy (“Tooly”, Business ID 3581455‑7) uses on tooly.rent and its booking platform, why we use them, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal data in general.

1. What cookies are and why we use them

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit it. Similar technologies — such as local storage, pixels and scripts — work in much the same way. Cookies let the site remember you and your choices between page loads and visits.

Tooly uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • keep the service working: log you in, remember your shopping basket and your booking in progress, and bring you back to the right place after payment or identity verification;
  • keep the service secure and prevent fraud during payment;
  • remember your preferences, such as language;
  • understand how the site is used so we can improve it (statistics) — only with your consent;
  • measure our advertising (marketing) — only with your consent.

2. Categories of cookies

We group cookies into four categories. Only the first is used without your consent.

  • Necessary — required for the website and booking platform to function (login, basket, payment, security). They cannot be switched off in our cookie settings; you can block them in your browser, but then core parts of the service will not work.
  • Preferences — remember choices you make, such as your language or region, so you don’t have to make them again.
  • Statistics — help us understand how visitors use the site (which pages are visited, where people get stuck) by collecting information in aggregated form. Used only with your consent.

Stripe’s cookies are set by our payment provider Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. when you reach the payment step, and are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.

4. Statistics and marketing cookies

Statistics and marketing cookies are loaded only after you have given consent in the cookie banner, which is provided by Usercentrics / Cookiebot. Until you consent, none of these tools run and no such cookies are set. If you decline, the site keeps working normally.

The tools we use in these categories, and the companies that process the data, are:

  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads (Google LLC) — statistics and marketing measurement. Google Consent Mode ensures these tools respect your consent choices. Google LLC is certified under the EU‑US Data Privacy Framework.
  • PostHog (PostHog EU Cloud, hosted in Frankfurt, Germany) — product analytics and session recordings. Session recordings mask all typed input and are kept for a maximum of 30 days.

5. How to manage or withdraw your consent

Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

The current version is always available on this page, with its version number and effective date shown at the top. Material changes are also reflected in the cookie banner, which will ask for your consent again where required.
