What you can do with it
- Movie night at home on a picture up to 130 inches
- Films in bed: the stand tilts 200°, so you can project straight onto the ceiling
- Match nights with friends, with motion smoothing that keeps fast action clear
- Gaming on the big screen with a console connected over HDMI
- Parties and presentations: slideshows, photos and videos cast from your phone
- Garden or balcony screenings on a dry summer evening
This projector is at its best in a dark or dimmed room. Daylight will wash out the picture, so plan your screening for the evening or draw the curtains. In the dark, the ceiling is where it really shines: projector owners on Reddit single out the tilting stand as one of its best features for exactly that. Reviewers also agree that a proper screen gives a noticeably better picture than a bare wall, so we pack one in with every rental.
How renting works
- Book online at tooly.rent. Six hours covers one film; 24 hours or 2 days gives you a whole weekend of screenings.
- Open your locker at Iso Omena with the PIN code from your booking. The projector, screen, remote and cables are packed together in one carry bag.
- Place the projector 1.2–3.9 m from the screen and switch it on. Autofocus and automatic keystone correction straighten the picture in a few seconds. Sign in to your own streaming apps, or plug in a laptop or console.
- Sign out of every account, pack everything back into the bag and return it to the same locker before your booking ends.

A projector is a precision optical device. These habits keep it working for you and for the next renter.
Look after the projector
- Keep it dry. Outdoor use is fine, but bring it inside before rain or evening dew and never set it on wet grass.
- Keep drinks and food away from the projector and the screen.
- Don't touch the lens. If there's dust on it, wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth only.
- Keep the vents clear. Don't cover the projector or run it inside a cupboard or the bag.
- Don't look into the lens while it's on, and keep small children from doing so.
- Let it cool for a few minutes after switching off before packing it.
- Carry it in the bag and set it on a stable, level surface.
If the projector is damaged by water or misuse during your rental, we inspect it and may invoice the repair cost.
Rent or buy? The Vali 1 Pro costs around 350 € to buy. A movie night with us costs 12,99 €, and a full weekend 35,99 €. You could rent it for about ten weekends before reaching the purchase price, with the screen and cable already included. If a big-screen night happens a few times a year rather than every week, renting costs less and leaves no projector gathering dust in the cupboard.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need my own streaming subscriptions? Yes. The projector runs Google TV with apps like Netflix and YouTube, but no subscriptions are included. Sign in with your own accounts and sign out before you return it; we can't take responsibility for accounts left signed in.
- Is it bright enough to use in the daytime? It's rated at 650 ISO lumens, which works best in a dark or dimmed room. In daylight the picture will look washed out, so draw the curtains or wait for the evening.
- Can I connect my laptop or PS5? Yes, with the 1.5 m HDMI cable in the bag. The HDMI 2.1 port accepts a 4K signal, but the projector displays it in 1080p Full HD.
- Can I use it outdoors? Yes, as long as it stays dry and clean. Water damage during the rental is inspected and may be invoiced.
- How big will the picture be? Between 40 and 130 inches. Place the projector about 1.2 m from the screen for the smallest picture and up to 3.9 m for the largest.
Pick-up and opening hours: The projector waits in the Tooly locker at Iso Omena, Piispansilta 11, Espoo, on level -1 near the Musti ja Mirri entrance. The locker is open every day from 6 am to midnight. If you drive, park in P2B next to the ABC lataus; Matinkylä metro station is right next to the mall, so it's an easy trip from Helsinki too.
Planning a gaming night? Our PS5 is in the same lockers and pairs well with the projector for a big-screen session.
