What the drill bit set is for

A shelf, curtain rod or mirror on a brick or block wall: masonry bit first, then plug and screw
Pilot holes in wood so boards and trim ends don't split
16, 22 and 32 mm holes through wood for a cable or pipe
Holes in thin sheet metal and brackets
Flat-pack assembly: Phillips, Pozidriv, Torx, slotted and hex bits in one case
Tightening nuts with the 4–10 mm nut setters
Plugs and screws aren't in the set, but you can buy them ready-packed from the same locker for 5, 6 and 8 mm holes. Each pack has 10 plugs and 10 PZ2 screws for 2,99 €.

How renting works

Book the set online, on its own or in the same booking as the drill.
Your PIN arrives by email as soon as you've paid.
Open the locker at Iso Omena. The case weighs 1,4 kg and fits in a backpack next to the drill.
Put each bit back in its slot and leave the case in the same locker. The window in the lid shows at a glance whether everything is back.

Pick the bit by material. The gold metal bits are made for steel, not aluminium. Masonry bits go into brick with hammer mode on but into aerated concrete with it off, because hammering crumbles the hole too wide and the plug just spins.

Rent or buy

A comparable set costs about 30 € in the shops, the same as about six one-day rentals.
At home, a set like this comes out when you move and a couple of times a year when something needs to go on the wall.
A set in your own drawer slowly loses exactly the bit you need. This one is checked after every return so all 70 pieces are there.

FAQ

How much does it cost to rent the drill bit set? 2,99 € for 6 hours, 3,99 € for 12 hours and 4,99 € for 24 hours. Three days is 6,99 €, and there's no deposit.
Are wall plugs included? No. Plugs and screws are sold separately in 5, 6 and 8 mm packs at 2,99 € each, and you can add one to the same order.
Does it fit the rotary hammer? No. The rotary hammer has an SDS-plus chuck and its own SDS+ drill and chisel set.
Can I drill into concrete? Into brick and block, yes, with the drill's hammer mode. Load-bearing concrete needs the rotary hammer.
Is there a PZ2 bit? Three of them. PZ2 is the most common head on chipboard and furniture screws, and it also fits the screws in Tooly's plug packs.

Pick-up and opening hours

The set waits in Tooly's parcel locker on level -1 of Iso Omena shopping centre, near the Musti ja Mirri entrance, at Piispansilta 11, Espoo.
Lockers open from 6 am to midnight, every day.
Driving? Park on P2B, next to the ABC charging point.
Matinkylä metro station is in the same building, so the 1,4 kg case travels easily to Helsinki and Vantaa too.
