Tool Rental for Home Jobs – You Don't Need to Buy It All
23.10.2026•5 min read
Tool rental is a simple way to get jobs done at home without filling a cupboard with things you rarely use. At Tooly you can rent a drill, a carpet cleaner, a window cleaning robot and more from Iso Omena in Espoo, with no deposit, for anything from a few hours to a week.
You probably don't need to buy it. You just need it for a while.
A shelf needs putting up. The sofa could use a proper clean. The windows have been waiting for weeks. None of these jobs is unusual, but each might need equipment you don't have at home.
Buying it all gets expensive fast. And once the job is done, the tools often end up in a cupboard, garage or storage room until next time, which might be months away.
Renting is a simpler alternative.
Get the right tool without buying another thing
With Tooly you book what you need for a set period and return it when you're done. Each job has its tool:
Rotary hammer: drilling into concrete and brick when a regular drill isn't enough
Carpet cleaner: deep cleaning sofas, rugs and other fabric surfaces
Window cleaning robot: large windows without a ladder. It needs right-angled frames and a pane of at least about 40 × 40 cm
Line laser: straight lines for shelves, pictures and tiles
The range also includes a jigsaw, reciprocating saw, circular saw, multi-tool, tool kit, compressor and steam cleaner. You don't need to build a collection of equipment for a handful of jobs. Pick the tool that fits the task, rent it for as long as you need, and bring it back when you're done.
Pay only for the time you need
The cost of a tool is more than its price tag. There's also how often you'll use it, where you'll keep it, and whether it'll still be useful a year from now.
For occasional jobs, renting saves both money and space. You don't pay the full price for something you might use once or twice, and you don't add one more thing to store.
Rental periods range from a few hours to a week, depending on the item. Some examples:
Drill: from 4,49 € (3 h), 11,99 € for 24 hours
Kärcher SE 3 carpet cleaner: from 12,99 € (6 h), 19,99 € for 24 hours
Deposit: 0 € on every item
Check the product page for exact prices before booking. You only pay for the rental period you choose, with no deposit tied up.
How tool rental works
Browse the range at tooly.rent, pick your item and rental period, and book. You can also log in with MobilePay.
You get a PIN code that opens the parcel locker.
Pick up your item at Iso Omena, basement level -1, near the Musti ja Mirri entrance. Park in P2B, next to the ABC charging station.
Return it to the same locker before your rental period ends.
The locker is open every day from 6 am to midnight, and there's no handover to arrange with anyone. That makes it easy to fit a home project around work, errands or the weekend.
When to buy and when to rent
Renting won't replace every purchase. If you use a tool every week, owning it probably makes sense. If it only comes out a few times a year, renting is usually the better option.
The idea is simple: own the things you use regularly, and rent the things you need now and then. Postponed jobs get easier to tackle when the right tool is available the moment you have time for them.
